What is the maximum service temperature of TP347 tube?

The maximum service temperature for a standard TP347 (and TP347H) stainless steel tube is 1650°F (899°C) for continuous service in oxidizing environments.However, for prolonged code applications (such as in boilers or pressure vessels under the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code), the recommended maximum continuous use temperature is typically limited to 1500°F (816°C) to maintain optimal mechanical and anti-sensitization properties.

 

What is the difference between TP347 and TP347H?

The primary difference between TP347 and TP347H is their carbon content. TP347 contains a maximum of 0.08% carbon, while TP347H (where "H" denotes high carbon) contains between 0.04% and 0.10% carbon. This higher carbon content grants TP347H superior creep resistance and high-temperature strength.
