ASTM A249 TP304L stainless steel welded pipe for boilers has an extremely low carbon content and does not require solution annealing or stabilization after welding. It has excellent resistance to wet steam corrosion and high temperature toughness, and is suitable for medium temperature, high pressure and intergranular corrosion sensitive environments of power station boilers, industrial boilers, and waste heat boilers.
ASTM A249 TP304L stainless steel welded pipe uses ER308L welding wire or E308L-16 welding rod (carbon ≤ 0.04%). The carbon content of the weld metal is consistent with that of the parent material, ensuring uniform corrosion resistance of the welded joint and better crack resistance than ordinary 304 welding materials.

What is the difference between TP304L stainless steel boiler tube and TP304?

TP304L is an ultra-low carbon type (C≤0.03%), which can significantly improve the resistance to intergranular corrosion without post-weld heat treatment, and is particularly suitable for harsh working conditions such as boilers with frequent welding and temperature fluctuations; while TP304 has a higher carbon content (C≤0.08%), and requires heat input control or solution treatment after welding to avoid sensitization, and has weaker resistance to intergranular corrosion.
In addition, TP304L has better resistance to wet steam corrosion and thermal fatigue when used for a long time below 650℃, and its elongation is ≥40% (higher than 30% of TP304).
