ASTM A249 TP316L bright-annealed welded stainless steel tubing is a high-purity product. Our manufacturing process utilizes automatic TIG welding, in-line bright annealing under a protective atmosphere, and 100% eddy current or ultrasonic testing to ensure weld integrity and consistent dimensional accuracy.
We offer two surface finish options: annealed and pickled, or bright-annealed. Controlled heat treatment processes yield a bright-annealed finish (Ra ≤ 0.8 μm), which minimizes scaling, enhances heat transfer efficiency, and reduces maintenance costs. TP316L contains 2%–3% molybdenum (Mo) and has a maximum carbon content of 0.03%, providing excellent resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion, and weld sensitization.

What is the difference between ASTM A249 and ASTM A269?
ASTM A249 focuses on critical pressure-retaining equipment (such as boilers and heat exchangers) and imposes stricter requirements for mechanical properties and weld strength.
ASTM A269 focuses on tubing for general industrial applications (such as instrumentation and laboratory piping) and does not mandate certain high-temperature mechanical property tests.

Based on the density of 316L stainless steel (7.98 g/cm³), the following standard formula can be used:
Weight (kg/m) = (OD - WT) × WT × 0.02507
