The tubing is made by welding flat-rolled stainless steel without filler metal and can be formed into round, square, rectangular, or special shapes.
ASTM A554 is a standard specification covering welded and drawn stainless steel mechanical tubing. SA554 TP304 cold-drawn seamless tube is produced by cold working immediately after the hot-drawing process, resulting in a much finer surface finish and tighter dimensional tolerances compared to hot-rolled tubes.
A554 304 welded tube is a durable type of tubing made from flat-rolled steel and joined by automated welding. It undergoes high-temperature on-line bright annealing at over 1040 °C, which completely removes residual stresses caused by cold forming and welding. This ensures the tube will not deform or warp due to stress relief, maintaining extremely consistent geometric tolerances for components.
ASTM A554 TP304 bright annealed tube is processed in a controlled reducing atmosphere (hydrogen/nitrogen protection) to achieve a surface roughness Ra < 0.4 μm, minimizing the accumulation of dust, moisture, and corrosive media.
SA554 MT 304 grade tubing is designed for pressure vessel applications, available in sizes up to 16 inches in diameter and with wall thicknesses exceeding 0.51 mm.
