What is 304 hot-rolled stainless steel plate?
304 hot-rolled stainless steel plate (corresponding to UNS S30400, 06Cr19Ni10 in GB/T 24511) is an austenitic stainless steel plate produced by hot rolling process, containing 18-20% chromium and 8-10.5% nickel. It has excellent corrosion resistance and formability. It is widely used in construction, kitchenware, machinery manufacturing, chemical industry and other fields. It implements international standards such as ASTM A240, GB/T 3280, JIS G4305, etc.

What is the difference between 304 stainless steel hot-rolled plate and cold-rolled plate?
Thickness: hot-rolled plate 3-200mm, cold-rolled plate ≤3mm;
Surface: hot-rolled plate needs to be pickled to remove oxide scale (rough), cold-rolled plate surface is smooth (2B/BA);
Application: hot rolling is suitable for thick plate structural parts, cold rolling is suitable for thin plate forming (such as tableware, automotive parts).
Does 304 hot-rolled plate need annealing after welding?
If the heat-affected zone of welding does not reach the sensitization temperature (400-850℃), no annealing is required;
If the highest corrosion resistance is required, solution annealing (1050℃ water cooling) can be performed to eliminate the risk of intergranular corrosion.
