What is ASTM 430 stainless flat sheet ?
ASTM 430 stainless steel plate is a ferritic stainless steel (chromium content 16%-18%, nickel-free), with excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance, high temperature oxidation resistance and low cost advantages. After hot rolling/cold rolling process, the surface is flat (pickling/2B surface) and the dimensional accuracy is high. It is widely used in industrial, construction and home appliance scenarios that require corrosion resistance and formability.

The cold working hardening rate is low, and it supports bending, stamping, and shearing. The annealed hardness is ≤183HB, and it is easy to be processed into complex shapes (such as home appliance housings and decorative panels).
No preheating or low preheating is required. It is recommended to use ER430 welding wire, and intergranular corrosion is not easy to occur in the heat-affected zone.
What is the difference between 430 and 304 stainless steel plates?
304 is better than 430 in corrosion resistance (especially acid and chloride ion resistance), and 430 is only suitable for atmospheric/weak corrosion scenarios; 304 stainless steel plate has good toughness and significant work hardening, while 430 has low hardness and is easy to cold process; 430 is more economical because it does not contain nickel, and is often used in household appliances and building decoration, while 304 is used in high corrosion resistance scenarios such as food, medical, and chemical industries.
