304 Stainless Steel H Beam

The SS 304 H beam features an H-shaped cross-section with wide, parallel flanges and a thin web. Its moment of inertia and section modulus are approximately 15% higher than those of traditional I-beams, providing superior bending resistance, making it ideal for long-span load-bearing structures. With a density of 7.93 g/cm³, it is about 15% lighter than carbon steel, allowing for reduced material usage and lower structural weight and transportation costs at equivalent strength levels.

For fabrication, the 304 stainless steel structural beam can be welded using ER308L filler wire without preheating (for thicknesses ≤16 mm), and the weld strength reaches 95% of the base metal. It also supports cold bending, laser cutting, and punching, meeting the requirements of complex designs such as curved curtain wall frameworks.
