Description

321 is a titanium-stabilized 18-8 austenitic stainless steel. It eliminates intergranular corrosion after welding and improves high-temperature durability compared to 304.

Chemical Composition

C ≤ 0.08, Cr 17.0–19.0, Ni 9.0–12.0, Ti ≥ 5×C%

Mechanical Properties

Tensile Strength ≥ 515 MPa, Yield Strength ≥ 205 MPa, Elongation ≥ 40%

Advantages

Excellent weldability without sensitization. Better high-temperature strength than 304. Stable in continuous service up to 815°C (1499°F).

Applications

Exhaust systems, expansion joints, heat exchangers, welded high-temperature piping.
