ASTM A789 ASME SA789 S32205 2205 duplex stainless steel pipe is a duplex stainless steel containing 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum, 5-6% nickel, and nitrogen alloy, possessing excellent resistance to general corrosion, localized corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, while also exhibiting high strength and excellent impact toughness. S32205 is very similar to S31803, the difference being in the chemical composition. Typically, we use the S32205 grade as a substitute for the S31803 grade.

SA789 S32205 Surface Condition
All tubes shall be free of excessive mill scale, suitable for inspection. A slight amount of oxidation will not be considered as scale. Any special finish requirements shall be subject to agreement between the manufacturer and the purchaser.
A789 S32205 Product Marking
In addition to the marking prescribed in Specification A1016/A1016M, the marking shall indicate whether the tubing is seamless or welded and the wall designation (average wall or minimum wall).
