Overview
EN 1.4541 is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel, equivalent to AISI 321Ti, designed to deliver superior intergranular corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength. It contains 0.15-0.40% titanium, which binds with carbon to form stable carbides, preventing chromium depletion and sensitization during welding and high-temperature exposure. This grade features a balanced chromium-nickel composition, offering general corrosion resistance comparable to EN 1.4301, with enhanced creep strength and thermal stability at temperatures up to 850°C. Non-magnetic and highly weldable, it is the preferred choice for high-temperature welded components requiring long-term corrosion and structural integrity.
Chemical Composition (wt%)
C ≤ 0.08, Cr: 17.00-19.00, Ni: 9.00-12.00, Ti: 0.15-0.40, Mn ≤ 2.00, Si ≤ 1.00, P ≤ 0.045, S ≤ 0.015
Typical Mechanical Properties (Annealed Condition)
Tensile Strength (Rm): ≥ 515 MPa; Yield Strength (Rp0.2): ≥ 205 MPa; Elongation (A): ≥ 40%; Brinell Hardness (HB): ≤ 201
Core Advantages
Titanium stabilization eliminates sensitization and intergranular corrosion; superior high-temperature creep strength and thermal stability; non-magnetic; excellent weldability and formability; stable performance in thermal-cycling environments; good general corrosion resistance.
Applications
Aerospace components, automotive exhaust systems, boiler tubes, high-temperature heat exchangers, furnace components, and high-temperature welded structural parts.
Equivalent Grades
AISI 321Ti, UNS S32103, GB 06Cr18Ni10Ti, SUS321Ti
