Description
EN 1.4948 is a high-chromium, high-nickel austenitic stainless steel, designed for extreme high-temperature applications requiring exceptional heat and corrosion resistance. Composed of 19.0-23.0% chromium, 19.0-23.0% nickel, and small additions of titanium and aluminum, it delivers superior oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1100°C, making it suitable for continuous service in ultra-high-heat environments. Unlike standard austenitic grades like EN 1.4301, it offers enhanced creep strength and scaling resistance, even under prolonged thermal stress. It is non-magnetic at room temperature, has good weldability and ductility, and is widely used in industrial heating, furnace, and power generation applications where components are exposed to extreme heat.
Chemical Composition (wt%)
C ≤ 0.08, Cr: 19.00-23.00, Ni: 19.00-23.00, Ti: 0.15-0.35, Al: 0.15-0.35, Mn ≤ 2.00, Si ≤ 1.00, P ≤ 0.045, S ≤ 0.030
Mechanical Properties
Tensile Strength ≥ 500 MPa, Yield Strength ≥ 200 MPa, Elongation ≥ 40%, Hardness ≤ 201 HB
Advantages
