Description

Grade SUS304 is a widely used austenitic stainless steel, known as the classic 18-8 stainless steel, which balances excellent corrosion resistance, formability, weldability, and cost-effectiveness. It contains 18.0-20.0% chromium and 8.0-11.0% nickel, forming a stable austenitic structure that makes it non-magnetic at room temperature. SUS304 offers superior corrosion resistance in atmospheric, freshwater, and food-processing environments, with good oxidation resistance and ease of fabrication. Unlike cost-effective grades like 201, it maintains stable performance in mildly corrosive conditions, though it is not recommended for severe chloride or marine environments. SUS304 is the universal choice for general-purpose applications where reliability and versatility are prioritized, widely used across consumer and industrial sectors.
