Overview

STS430 is a versatile ferritic stainless steel that stands out for its balanced combination of corrosion resistance, formability, and cost-effectiveness, complying with relevant industrial standards and applicable to various product forms including bars, sheets, plates, and coils. With a chromium content of 16.00-18.00%, it forms a dense passive oxide film that effectively resists atmospheric, freshwater, and mild chemical corrosion, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. As a non-heat-treatable grade, it maintains stable mechanical properties during fabrication processes such as stamping, bending, and welding, eliminating the need for complex post-processing. It is magnetic, features a natural matte surface that can be easily polished to achieve decorative finishes, and avoids the high cost of nickel-containing austenitic grades, making it a widely used choice in decorative and general industrial fields.
