Description

UNS S31603 is the low-carbon variant of S31600, formulated to prevent intergranular corrosion after welding. By limiting carbon to ≤0.03%, it avoids chromium carbide precipitation, maintaining corrosion resistance in welded joints without post-weld heat treatment. It inherits the molybdenum-enhanced corrosion performance of S31600, making it highly reliable in chloride, chemical, and marine environments. This grade is the preferred choice for heavy welded fabrications where long-term corrosion resistance is essential. It is widely used in industries where equipment integrity after welding is critical.
