UNS S43000 Stainless Steel

Description

UNS S43000 is a widely used ferritic stainless steel known for good corrosion resistance, formability, and cost efficiency. It contains 16–18% chromium, providing excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion and oxidation. It is magnetic and cannot be hardened by heat treatment. It offers good formability and surface finish, making it popular in decorative and appliance applications. Its corrosion resistance is lower than 304 but sufficient for many indoor and mild outdoor environments.

C ≤ 0.12, Cr: 16.00–18.00, Mn ≤ 1.00, Si ≤ 1.00, P ≤ 0.045, S ≤ 0.030, Ni ≤ 0.75

Mechanical Properties

Tensile Strength ≥ 450 MPa, Yield Strength ≥ 205 MPa, Elongation ≥ 22%, Hardness ≤ 183 HB
