904L alloy plate (UNS N08904, 1.4539) is a low-carbon, high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments, including seawater and acidic solutions. Its low carbon content helps minimize the risk of sensitization during welding or high-temperature exposure, surpassing the performance of molybdenum-reinforced stainless steels 316L and 317L.
904L stainless steel plate is easily welded and can be processed according to standard shop fabrication practices. It offers full resistance in such environments over the entire concentration range of 0 to 100% at elevated temperatures (35°C), making it widely used in the fabrication of tanks, piping, heat exchangers, reactors, and offshore structures.
