ASTM A312 Stainless Steel Pipe Supplier
GNEE Stainless Steel supplies ASTM A312 stainless steel pipes suitable for pressure piping and general industrial applications. We offer pipes in grades 304/304L and 316/316L, with dimensions conforming to ASME B36.19M standards and covering common wall thickness schedules (5S, 10S, 40S, and 80S). The pipes are annealed and available with either AP (Annealed & Pickled) or BA (Bright Annealed) finishes; an EN 10204 3.1 Material Test Certificate (MTC) is provided with every shipment.

Our ASTM A312 seamless pipes are manufactured by piercing solid steel billets and hot-working or cold-drawing them to final dimensions, resulting in a product free of longitudinal welds. Thanks to this seamless structure, the failure rate is as low as 0.87%. They exhibit excellent high-temperature strength and creep resistance; even during long-term use in high-temperature environments exceeding 450°C, there is no preferential deformation or cracking at weld zones.
Our ASTM A312 welded pipes utilize advanced automatic TIG (GTAW) or laser welding technologies to ensure smooth, fully penetrated, and consistent welds. Following welding, TP310S pipes undergo solution annealing, pickling, and passivation to restore corrosion resistance in the heat-affected zone and remove surface oxides. All weld zones undergo 100% Eddy Current Testing (ECT) or hydrostatic testing (ultrasonic testing/UT is also available upon request) to verify weld integrity and detect potential defects.

What are the heat treatment requirements for HCW pipe under ASTM A312?
All HCW steel pipes must undergo solution annealing after the final cold-working process.
The heat treatment temperature must comply with the requirements for the specific grade (e.g., TP304, TP316L).
The purpose is to relieve internal stresses induced by cold working, dissolve carbides, and restore the material's corrosion resistance.

I can help you evaluate whether an HCW, seamless, or standard welded pipe fits your requirements.
ASTM A312 Stainless Steel Pipe Testing
Standard inspection items include wall thickness testing, chemical composition analysis, eddy current testing (for welded pipes), hydrostatic testing (depending on the pressure rating), or ultrasonic testing (for seamless pipes).

Stainless Steel Pipe Standard Packaging
Steel pipes are packaged by sealing the ends with appropriately sized, solid high-density plastic plugs or rubber protective caps to tightly close the openings. They are then wrapped in plastic and either bundled or packed in stacked wooden crates, with appropriate protective measures taken to ensure safety during transport or to meet seaworthiness requirements.
Markings comply with the specifications of A1016/A1016M and indicate whether the pipe is hot-worked or cold-worked; details include, but are not limited to: standard, grade, dimensions, heat number, and lot number.

FAQ
1.Are the weld seams of A312 welded pipes reliable?
A312 ERW welded pipes undergo 100% eddy current or ultrasonic testing to detect weld defects; the entire pipe undergoes full-body solution annealing, ensuring the weld's mechanical properties and corrosion resistance match those of the base metal.
2.What is the difference between ASTM A312 304 and 316?
The main difference between ASTM A312 Grade TP304 and Grade TP316 stainless steel pipes is their chemical composition, corrosion resistance, and cost. Grade 304 contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel, whereas Grade 316 adds 2% to 3% molybdenum to its mix of 16–18% chromium and 10–14% nickel.
3.What is the difference between ASTM A312 and A358?
ASTM A312 and ASTM A358 are both standards for stainless steel pipes intended for high-temperature and corrosive environments; A312 covers seamless pipes and welded pipes produced without the addition of filler metal, whereas A358 covers electric-fusion-welded (EFW) pipes produced with filler metal and is subdivided into five distinct classes based on testing grades.
