UNS S31803 (corresponding to 022Cr22Ni5Mo3N in EN 1.4462 and GB/T 20878-2007) is the United States Unified Numbering System (UNS) designation for duplex stainless steel 2205. It has austenite + ferrite dual-phase structure (about 50% each) and is widely used in medium and high pressure environments containing chloride ions (Cl⁻), such as marine engineering, chemical industry, energy and other fields.

It can be welded, and ER2209 welding wire is recommended, with heat input ≤1.5kJ/mm. No post-weld heat treatment is required, but the interlayer temperature must be controlled to <150℃ to avoid imbalance of duplex structure and affect corrosion resistance.
