ASTM A249 is the standard specification for welded stainless steel pipes for boilers, superheaters and heat exchangers issued by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). TP309S is one of the steel grades, an austenitic stainless steel with high chromium (22-24% Cr) and nickel (12-15% Ni) and a carbon content of ≤0.08%. It has excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance and medium-temperature strength, and is specially designed for superheater piping systems in high-temperature environments.

How to distinguish TP309S from high-temperature stainless steel TP310S tubes?

Temperature range: TP309S is suitable for 870-980℃ oxidation resistance, TP310S (24-26% Cr, 19-22% Ni) can withstand higher temperatures (≤1150℃), but the cost is higher.
Cost-effectiveness: TP309S is more cost-effective than TP310S at medium high temperatures (<1000℃), and is suitable for most power stations and industrial superheater scenarios.
