ASTM A249 TP317L Stainless Steel Welded Boiler Tube is an austenitic stainless steel pipe specifically designed for boilers, superheaters, heat exchangers, and condensers. It is well-suited for operation in high-temperature and high-pressure environments.
TP317L stainless steel welded tube is an austenitic grade characterized by its low carbon content (≤0.03%), as indicated by the "L" designation. This provides enhanced corrosion resistance and superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The material is capable of continuous operation at temperatures up to 1200°C, far exceeding the performance limits of standard stainless steels.

What standards should the quality inspection of TP317L welded pipes meet?
Dimension tolerance: outer diameter ±1%, wall thickness ±10% (according to ASTM A249 requirements), length tolerance ±5mm.
Hydrostatic test: minimum test pressure ≥ 517 bar (or 1.5 times the design pressure), maintain pressure for 10 seconds without leakage.
Nondestructive testing: 100% eddy current testing (ET) or magnetic flux leakage testing (MFL) to ensure that the pipe wall has no cracks, folds and other defects.
