ASME SA249 SS TP348 Welded Pipe is an austenitic stainless steel (belonging to the 300 series) that complies with the ASME SA249 standard. It is used in high temperature environments (such as boilers, superheater pipes) by adding tantalum (Ta) as a stabilizer to prevent intergranular corrosion at high temperatures.

What is the main difference with TP347 stainless steel welded pipe?
TP348 uses tantalum (Ta) and TP347 uses niobium (Nb). Both are used to fix carbon to avoid intergranular corrosion, but TP348 stainless steel condenser tubes are often used in radiation-sensitive or higher purity scenarios due to the characteristics of tantalum.
