Our 2B finish stainless steel sheets feature excellent flatness, with surface roughness controlled to Ra ≤ 0.8 μm and thickness tolerances maintained within ±0.05 mm. SS 304L sheets are available in thicknesses ranging from 0.3 mm to 6.0 mm. Standard widths include 1000 mm, 1250 mm, 1500 mm, and 2000 mm, while customized dimensions can also be provided to meet specific project requirements.
In addition, we offer ASTM A240 304L stainless steel sheets with a variety of surface finishes, including BA (Bright Annealed), No.4, HL (Hairline Brushed), and Mirror Polish. What's the difference between ASTM A240 304L and 304 sheet?
The key difference lies in the carbon content.
304L has a maximum carbon content of 0.03%, much lower than the 0.08% limit of standard 304 stainless steel.This lower carbon content significantly reduces carbide precipitation along grain boundaries, providing better resistance to intergranular corrosion.Therefore, 304L is more suitable for applications involving welding or long-term exposure to high temperatures, such as chemical storage tanks and welded piping components.
What welding consumables should be used when welding 304L 2B plate?
It is recommended to use ER308L (gas-shielded welding wire) or E308L (welding electrode). The "L" series consumables are used to match the low-carbon characteristics of the base metal, ensuring that the corrosion resistance of the weld metal is not inferior to that of the base metal.
