What is 317 317L thick stainless steel plate ?
317/317L thick stainless steel plate is a high-molybdenum austenitic stainless steel with 3-4% high molybdenum, making it the preferred material for resistance to chloride corrosion, high temperature and high pressure, and strong oxidizing media. It is suitable for harsh scenes such as chemical industry, nuclear power, and marine engineering. The plate thickness is 6-100mm (mainly hot-rolled), which complies with GB/T 24511, ASTM A240 and other standards.

How is the oxidation resistance of 317/317L stainless steel at high temperature?
Anti-oxidation temperature: no obvious oxidation in long-term use below 850℃, and can reach 950℃ in short term
High temperature strength: 317 has a yield strength of ≥150MPa at 600℃, which is better than 316L (, suitable for medium temperature and high pressure scenes.
Why is 317L thick plate more suitable for welded structure?
Ultra-low carbon (C≤0.03%): avoid intergranular corrosion caused by carbide precipitation in the welding heat affected zone (HAZ), especially suitable for large welded parts with thickness >20mm (such as tank cylinder, pipeline flange).
