What is AISI 201 Stainless Steel Cold Drawn Bars ?
AISI 201 stainless steel cold drawn bar is a nickel-saving austenitic stainless steel bar, belonging to the 200 series stainless steel (UNS S20100). It has high manganese and low nickel as the core components. The strength and dimensional accuracy are improved through the cold drawing process. It has both low cost and good processing performance. It is suitable for mechanical structural parts and decorative parts that do not require high corrosion resistance but require economy.

201 Stainless Steel Cold finished Rod Advantages
AISI 201 cold drawn stainless steel bar has a certain corrosion resistance and performs well in the atmosphere and dry environment. It is suitable for scenes such as interior decoration and general mechanical parts. However, compared with 304 stainless steel, its corrosion resistance is weaker and it is easy to rust in a humid environment containing chloride ions (such as the seaside and bathroom).
In addition, the higher carbon content of 201 Cold Drawn Bright Bar makes it easy to precipitate Cr₂3C₆ when it is in the sensitization temperature zone (400 - 850°C) after welding, which poses a risk of intergranular corrosion and needs to be reduced through solution treatment (1050°C water cooling).

Welding process: ER309L welding wire is recommended. Clean the surface oil before welding, and pickling and passivation are required after welding (to avoid weld corrosion).
