What is 301 Stainless Steel Hot Rolled bars ?
301 stainless steel hot-rolled bar is a high ductility austenitic stainless steel bar (UNS S30100), which belongs to the 300 series stainless steel. It has 6-8% nickel and 16-18% chromium as the core components. It is formed by hot rolling process and its strength is significantly improved during cold deformation (work hardening effect). It is suitable for structural parts, springs and precision parts that require high strength and formability. The cost is about 15%-20% lower than 304 stainless steel.

The tensile strength of 301 stainless steel hot-rolled bars is ≥520 MPa, the yield strength is ≥205 MPa, and the elongation is ≥40%, providing a good plastic foundation for subsequent cold processing. The structure is uniform after hot rolling, and it is suitable for secondary processing such as cold drawing, bending, and stamping (such as spring coiling and bolt forming).
The hot rolling process cost of 301 stainless steel round bars is low, and the price is 30% lower than that of cold-drawn bars. It is suitable for the production of structural parts with low surface accuracy requirements.
