What should be paid attention to when welding 304L polished steel rods?
Welding suggestions: Welding rod selection: Use 308L or 304L special welding rods to ensure that the carbon content of the weld matches and avoid intergranular corrosion.
Process points: No post-weld heat treatment is required (because the parent material is low in carbon), but the welding heat input needs to be controlled to reduce deformation; clean the slag after welding to avoid residual corrosive media.
Comparison with 304: If 304 is not heat treated after welding, the area near the weld is prone to corrosion due to carbide precipitation, while 304L can be directly welded without treatment.
