What is ASTM A276 UNS S31803 duplex round bar ?
ASTM A276 is the standard for stainless steel and heat-resistant steel bars specified by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). UNS S31803 is a duplex stainless steel, which is a ferrite-austenite duplex stainless steel (also known as duplex steel). It has high strength, good corrosion resistance and resistance to stress corrosion cracking, and is suitable for harsh environments.

Duplex Steel UNS S31803 Forged Rod Advantages
Duplex Steel S31803 Bright Rod has much higher yield strength (≥ 450 MPa) and tensile strength (≥ 620 MPa) than ordinary austenitic stainless steel (such as 304), reducing material consumption. It still maintains high impact toughness at low temperatures (such as -40°C), which is better than pure ferritic stainless steel. It can be welded, forged and machined, but the heat input needs to be controlled to avoid phase imbalance.
What is the difference between S31803 stainless steel bar and duplex stainless steel 2205?
UNS S31803 (formerly known as SAF 2205) and S32205 are the same material (codes in different standards), belonging to the second generation of duplex steel. Compared with the first generation (such as S31500), its chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content is optimized, and its comprehensive performance is more balanced. It is one of the most widely used duplex stainless steels.
