Description

UNS S30409 is the high-carbon version of S30400, engineered for improved high-temperature strength and creep resistance. With carbon controlled between 0.04% and 0.10%, it delivers enhanced mechanical stability at elevated temperatures compared to standard S30400 and low-carbon S30403. It retains the austenitic structure and general corrosion resistance of the 304 family while performing better under long-term thermal stress. This grade is designed for continuous service at temperatures above 500°C, where standard 304 may experience gradual strength loss. It is widely specified in high-temperature piping, boilers, and heat-processing equipment.

Advantages
