What is 17-4PH Stainless Steel Sheet Plate ?
17-4PH stainless steel plate (UNS S17400 / 1.4542 / X5CrNiCuNb16-4) is a precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel with excellent high strength, good corrosion resistance and controllable mechanical properties after heat treatment. It achieves high strength (maximum tensile strength 1310MPa) after solution + aging heat treatment.

17-4PH stainless steel plate is austenite matrix + martensite structure to reduce the risk of hydrogen embrittlement. It is stable in high temperature and high pressure environment containing chloride ions (such as nuclear power circulating water system), and its corrosion resistance is better than 400 series stainless steel and close to the level of 304 stainless steel.
The solid solution elongation of precipitation hardened 17-4PH steel plate is ≥40%, which supports complex forming such as stamping and stretching; the cutting performance is good after aging. When using ER17-4PH welding wire, no preheating is required before welding, and the strength is restored after aging treatment after welding to avoid softening of the heat affected zone.
