What is 303 stainless steel round bar?
303 stainless steel round bar is a kind of free-cutting austenitic stainless steel. The cutting performance is improved by adding sulfur (S) or selenium (Se). It has excellent processing efficiency and good comprehensive performance. Its structure is face-centered cubic austenite, non-magnetic, can be strengthened by cold working, and is widely used in precision mechanical parts processed by automatic lathes, such as bolts, gears, valves, etc.

Stainless Steel 303 Cold Rolled Rod Advantages
The corrosion resistance of stainless steel 303 round bar is slightly lower than that of 304 stainless steel due to sulfur content, which leads to chromium depletion at the grain boundary. It should avoid long-term use in the sensitization temperature zone of 400-850°C. It is suitable for structural parts in non-strongly corrosive environments, and its cost is 25% lower than that of 316 stainless steel.
Heat treatment of 303 stainless steel hot-rolled bar
Solution treatment: Heating at 1010-1150°C and then water cooling to restore austenite single structure and improve corrosion resistance (non-essential process, annealing state has met most processing requirements).
Stress relief annealing: Keep warm at 200-300°C after cold processing to eliminate internal stress and prevent deformation.
